POSITION: PROGRAM MANAGER (TFASEG) (Territorial and Freely Associated States Education Grant- T&FASEG)

DESCRIPTION

This is highly administrative work which involves coordination of activities involving teacher qualification. An employee in this class is responsible for supervising, planning, directing, monitoring and coordinating activities carried out by the Territories Freely Associated States Education Grant Teachers/Paraprofessional Quality Program (TPQ).

DUTIES AND RESPOSNIBILITES (NOT ALL INCLUSIVE)

  • Coordinates all activities involving Teacher Qualification;
  • Oversees federally funded projects aligned with the Territories Freely Associated States Grants;
  • Supervises, plans, directs, monitors, and coordinates activities related to TPQ;
  • Remains abreast of requirements to comply with federal and local laws and standards;
  • Reviews  and processes  federal  program  documentation  to  include  grants  applications, agreements memoranda and letters;
  • Ensures that proper documentation of program is kept and prepares reports;
  • Coordinates activities related to needs assessment;
  • Examines data to determine personnel needs as it relates to teacher/paraprofessional quality;
  • Maintains supervisory control over technical and managerial aspects of program actives;
  • Analyzes data on program effectiveness and prepares report for management;
  • Reviews all correspondences and expenditure request related to the grant;
  • Coordinates and chairs all teacher quality meetings, technical assistance activities;
  • Advises the director on program policy, programmatic expectations, and other pertinent information
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWELEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of all aspects of program development;
  • Knowledge of and ability to understand and implement programs within federal guidelines;
  • Knowledge and ability to conduct training and seminar sessions;
  • Ability to organize work effectively, and prioritize objectives;
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with staff, teachers, and administrators;
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely;
  • Ability to follow written and oral instruction;
  • Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Education or closely related field, plus at least three (3) years’ experience working with program leadership; or
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Education, or closely related field, plus at least three (3) years’ experience working with federally- assisted programs or program leadership.
